Bill
Oddie Gives The High Five Club Ten Out Of Ten
Manny gave a talk recently in London on Africa and its people and wildlife,
and in the audience was none other than the birdwatcher, TV presenter
and actor Bill Oddie.
Well to cut a long story short he was so impressed with what we are achieving
together that he has become a Patron of our charity!!
Bill said that
the High Five Club is "obviously a wondrously effective organisation.
Small, but exquisite in every detail! I have come up with 5 "qualities" which
contribute to its strength, namely Imagination, Organisation, Co -operation,
Determination and Compassion.
It slightly pains me to say it, but there
are some "charities" who "mean well", but haven't
quite "got it together". More sentiment than sense perhaps.
More raving than reality! Passion is of course essential, but it
must fuel practicality. The High 5 Club is a splendid example of
how it should
be done."
We really look forward to working with Bill over the coming
months to raise the profile of the High Five Club so
we can secure new
members and more corporate supporters, the long and short being
we can then
together
provide more people in Africa with a 'hand up' out of poverty.
